Gatlin's Barbecue

So, I get the same thing when trying out a new BBQ spot to compare. Moist Brisket, Mac and Sweet Potatoes. Brisket was just ok, bark had no taste at all, meat was sufficiently moist but needed sauce and good BBQ doesn't need sauce. Mac was solid, good flavor and creamy. Sweet potatoes were extra sweet, straight diabetes sweet. If you like super sweet in a pool of sweet juice, you'll like it but a tad too much for me. Nice establishment, everybody was nice. I'd come back and try something different but no need to hurry back or anything.

The 1st time I ate this barbecue it was too good to be true! This is now my 3rd time which was the charm for me having the pleasure to meet “Mrs. Mary Gatlin” the co-founder of the family owned @gatlinsbarbecue . Mrs. Gatlin is a product of #3rdWard and a #JackYates graduate which we both have in common. When you meet this sweet lady she will make you feel like Family forever.👌🏾🫶🏾🤘🏾

This is a hidden gem. You'll drive past it because its in a small shopping center. But it's worth the stop. Must try! When they have ex presidents and mayors visiting, there's a reason. Recommend trying cucumber salad side. Ask for Regina.

Ordered a 3 meat plate and some wings. If you hate very very good TX BBQ please don't show up here. Everything on my order was jumping from the smoked meats to the sides. We will be back.

This restaurant was on our list to try while in Houston. My family and I all ordered the ribs with sides (collard greens, Mac & cheese, dirty rice). The ribs were good but better with the sauce that came on the side. The Mac & Cheese was cheesy but not flavorful, the dirty rice was good, and the collard greens had spice but not flavorful.
