I arrived at the downtown Flying Saucer on a chilly Sunday night looking for a nice, strong ale to warm me up. Since it was so late, nearby parking wasn't too hard plus, it was free! There's construction along Main Street near the Saucer but, it wasn't much of a obstacle. I went inside and immediately sat myself at the bar and had my order taken by the bartender. I ordered a buffalo chicken wrap with a side salad and a beer. The wrap came out after a short wait and, I have to say, it was par for the course for bar food. The food had good presentation, looking very appetizing and with good portion sizes. The salad was tasty with fresh crisp lettuce, red onion slices, and mozzarella cheese shavings. The accoutrements of the bar are very much British style pub. Saucers adorn nearly every space of the interior, giving you much to look at as you enjoy your meal. There's ample seating inside the pub, with seats available at either the bar, booths, or tables. The atmosphere here is very sports bar-y and isn't exactly the best joint for a family outing. All-in-all, I'd highly recommend the Flying Saucer to anyone who's looking to have a quick pint from their huge craft beer selection or bite to eat before traversing Downtown.

I had honestly forgotten that there is a Flying Saucer in Houston. After being downtown to catch a show at the hobby center we decided to walk a few blocks and have a nightcap The interior is deceptively massive. Everything looked clean, the lighting was more or less intimate, and we were there late so, there was more than enough seating We were greeted by a server who asked what we wanted almost immediately. Flying Saucer boasts dozens upon dozens of different beers from around the world, and we needed a minute. We asked if we could take a seat and look at the menu and she sort of rolled her eyes and talked back to us. Maybe it was a misunderstanding because she was relatively nice the rest of the night, but that initial interaction really rubbed us the wrong way While the FS is a lot of fun, I prefer more theme or dive bars, and there are so many other ones in this area to choose from. I would definitely consider checking out the Bad News Bar Some tips: Flying Saucer has a beer tour if you want something to work towards. Ask your server how to get started. If you don’t like beer they actually have non beer options, just ask. Parking isn’t great but there are some parking garages in the area. I would recommend using a ride share just to be safe. They also do trivia every Tuesday evening - play, test your knowledge, and win prizes Cheers!!

Reuben-ish. So good! The jalapeño is noticeable but not overpowering. The beer selection is obviously impressive, and the atmosphere is laid back and welcoming.

Lots of beer options to choose from in draft, bottle, or can. They also have plenty of food options to choose from as well. They have specials and events during the week. Good place to watch a game or come before and after a baseball game downtown.

We came for a beer and a bite on Thursday night. The beers were great, but the Nacho Libre and the Hungry Farmer's cold meat board were a disappointment. I recommend coming here to drink, but the food quality is below average. The staff were nice.
