Went Mother's Day wanted some soul food. To go order messed up terribly. Wanted fried chicken and to try their multi sides, given wings instead. Sides of mac and cheese, black eye peas and greens had a sour after taste, like they were old, too salty and peas tried to be spicy as well as mushy. Porkchop basket fries were the crinkle kind but soggy. Received 2 chops but tough to chew. Wanted candy yams but it wasn't with order. Don't know if that was good or bad. Really disappointed because we need a good soul food restaurant on our side of town.

Everything I got from this place was so bad. Idk who they have cooking, but the food was terrible. Ordered chicken tenders and got fried shrimp instead, Fried shrimp was so salty, but wasn’t too bad but everything else we got had no seasoning. The baked chicken was nasty, cabbage was awful and the Mac and cheese was just really plain. The mashed potatoes had absolutely no flavor. The yams were ok. 2 outta 10 lol definitely don’t recommend.

Nice little laid back spot. The food and drinks are on point!!!!! The staff is friendly and the cook knows his way around the kitchen. Not to mention the food menu is reasonably priced (a plus for me) If you’re in the Katy area, stop by. I’ll definitely be back.

If you are looking for good, fresh soul food that doesn't taste like it's been sitting for 2 wks and microwaved to serve, then do not come here. I live in Cypress and wanted some quick soul food, but didn't feel like driving too far. When I walked kto the door I see a big trash bag of with trash in it sitting on the ground in front of the front entrance. When I saw this my first mind told me to drive away, but me wanting to support black business I decided to give them the benefit of the doubt. When I walked in there I saw the dj, and a man a the bar. After about 1.5 mins the dj walks to the back then tells me "she will be here to help you". I waited about 3 mins then i see the man at the bar go behind the bar but yet he still did not acknowledge me. I asked him I he could take my order and he said yes. I told him what I wanted and it took him about 7 mins to enter the order and give me a receipt. At this point the woman finally came from the back, and she as well did not acknowledge me at all, just poured herself a drink and sat down. It took 10+ mins for them to bring me the old food. I taste the food and was very disappointed. The cornbread was most definitely very, very old and stale, parts of the mac and cheese was stuck together like it had been sitting/stored for a while. The green beans were just bad, the chicken was bad, the rice and so called gravy was horrible, and the whole plate was Luke warm. Do not wate your money/time here.
