We went to El Tiempo this past Friday because I was really in the mood for some Tex-Mex. I visited this location for the first time, and right away I was a bit turned off by the valet situation—you basically have to valet if you want to park close to the restaurant. I chose to park on the street instead, and honestly, it felt completely safe. When we walked in, there were two hosts at the front. They didn’t greet us, smile, or acknowledge us until I told them we needed a table for two. Not the warmest first impression. However, we were seated fairly quickly, and our chips and drinks came out right away. Despite how busy it was, our server was kind, attentive, and overall great. We ordered two micheladas, which were really good, and the fajitas were delicious—definitely the highlight of the experience. The music was also a nice touch and added to the atmosphere. On our way out, the same hosts were chatting among themselves and didn’t say a word—not even a “thank you for coming.” Customer service at the front definitely needs improvement, especially since the hosts are the first and last faces guests see. Overall, I would go back for the food, but I hope the hosts work on their customer service.

Always delicious food and cocktails in combination with excellent customer service. Our favorite server Francisco is the best bartender. Always very professional and attentive, service with a smile.

We came for dinner and shared the steak and chicken fajitas and the spinach enchiladas which were all very delicious with good portion sizes. Liked the margarita Monday special too! The service was efficient and friendly.

We visited this Mexican restaurant as a group of four and had a great time overall. While I personally would rate it a 3, the rest of the table thought it deserved a 4, so we’re going with a consensus rating of 4 stars. We ordered shrimp fajitas, steak fajitas, guacamole, and a platter that included an enchilada, a taco, rice, and refried beans. The refried beans were surprisingly tasty! For dessert, we had tres leches cake and flan—both were very sweet, but if you have a sweet tooth, you’ll love them. I don’t usually go for very sweet desserts, but they were still quite good. One thing that surprised us was that the food wasn’t spicy at all. We enjoy spicy food, so we expected a bit more heat, but everything was quite mild. Drinks-wise, we had skinny margaritas. They were okay—not amazing, but decent. In terms of pricing, the total for four people, including tip, was just over $200 (about $50 per person). Given the quality and quantity of food, we found this to be very fair. Overall, a solid choice for Mexican food with good value. Would I rush back? Maybe not, but the rest of my group enjoyed it more than I did. Worth trying if you’re in the area!
