Loved getting to pick out all of our own pastries! Such a huge variety to choose from. Best churros of my life (the ones filled with caramel). We also loved the pumpkin concha and the rebanada de mantequilla. The tiny pecan pie-looking pastries were great too, not too sweet with a soft cookie crust. Haven’t tried the rest yet. The workers were sweet and we got 11 pastries for $22! Amazing prices for the quality. Def recommend for a fun activity and delicious food.

This place is the best for your Mexican sweet bread fix and there’s all sorts of variations to choose from. You can also order cakes for special occasions or just because. I found the staff to be unwelcoming, but it could’ve been the time of day we visited.

El Bolillo is a true Northside classic and one of those places that feels woven into Houston family life. Everyone I know has had a birthday cake from here at some point, and I’ve been coming for their sweet bread for years — always fresh, always comforting, always hits. It’s that kind of nostalgic neighborhood spot where the smell, the trays, the pan dulce… it all just feels like home. I also recently found out they have another location near the Galleria off Westpark, which I love same authentic vibe, just reaching more families. El Bolillo isn’t just a bakery — it’s part of our culture and our celebrations. Always will be one of my go-to’s.

Great tamales! 3 tamales + soda drink is $4.99. Place is clean. Great customer service! We will be back.

My family and I have been coming here for years but I think they have lost me. This weekend we stopped by to get a Rosca de Reyes and once my husband bit into his bite, he found a piece of hard sharp metal that stabbed him in the gums. We are fortunate that it was small enough to notice and spit out. This is truly a hazard and am extremely disappointed. Do better
