I'm so glad I gave this place a try! Hands down, best sushi and best value in Houston. The owner and staff are incredibly kind, patient, and tri-lingual! The value is incredible. For the amount of sushi I ordered, it could easily been double the price for half the quality elsewhere. I came in to meet some friends but after some confusion of plans we decided on a to-go order. I threw a massive order at them that would've ideally been called in the day before for pick-up, but they didn't mind putting it together. (Please don't do this to them as they get a lot of to-go orders and are in a small space, we just had plans change). Yes, this place is in a gas station so that is the only reason the atmosphere isn't considered a 5 star eatery, however, I would go a million times over. The worker from the gas station was even kind enough to let me charge my phone while I waited. She was very sweet. If you're not a fan of the location, just order to-go. I was comfortable waiting there while they prepped the order. Let's talk about the food. So much fish! They don't try to fluff the sushi up with too much rice, they give perfect proportions. They also have a house sauce I've never seen before that is delicious. We picked a lot of different rolls because we were feeding different palettes and they were all wonderful. I tried the tower appetizer too and that came packed with fish as well. I really can't recommend this place enough. Please don't ruin my new favorite sushi spot, treat them with kindness and patience and they will absolutely return the favor. We can't wait to go back.

Don’t let the location fool you — yes, it’s inside a gas station… and yes, it’s absolutely incredible. I honestly thought I was at the wrong place when I pulled up, but this ended up being the best sushi I’ve had in Houston so far. Everything was fresh and the flavors were amazing. You can tell they take real pride in what they do. The fish was high quality, the rolls were perfectly balanced, and every bite tasted like it was made with care. The portions are generous, the prices are more than fair, and the quality easily competes with (and beats) a lot of high-end sushi spots. If you’re even slightly hesitant because of the location — don’t be. This is a hidden gem. I’ll definitely be back.

Ignore the fact that Koba is inside a gas station. This is the best sushi you can get in this area by far and definitely one of my top 3 in the southwest Houston area for reasonably priced sushi. Most of the naming of their sushi rolls is unique, so be sure to read through the descriptions to find what you like. Portion sizes are HUGE so you will probably over order on your first visit. Pricing seems pretty standard, but when you see the size of the rolls (especially the hand rolls), you will be shocked. I really like some of the unique combinations they have (I have never had plantain or kiwi in sushi, but it’s so good!). The staff is very friendly, and they keep the place clean, too. My current favorites are the Nara, Yokohama, Kashiwa, Alief (similar to shaggy dog), and the spicy chopped scallop hand roll. They sometimes garnish the plates with seaweed salad which is a nice little surprise. I work just 5 minutes away, so I will definitely be frequenting this place for lunch. They also have hot foods, but I haven’t tried them yet since I like the sushi so much.

Best bang for your bucks!! You can’t ask for better value than this in Houston area. Fresh sushi (with toppings) for less than $3/piece and their portions are generous. They also use good quality wasabi too which is a surprise for me. The chefs also super sweet and accommodating, service was lovely and the coolest thing is it’s inside a normal Gas Station. Will come back soon and bring my family to try this place!

When I tell you I accidentally came upon this place....and so glad I did! My kids and I just happened to stop here because we just came from the park up the street and we were thirsty, so we initially just stopped by to grab some water/drinks. I immediately noticed the posters for Koba outside the gas station and my first thought was "Wait...there's a sushi place in here??" I opened the doors and immediately saw the immaculate sushi that was sitting.upon a table some customers were enjoying. I never picked up a menu so fast!! Lol Everything I ordered was delicious. Had the Lo Mein, pork dumplings and I ordered three different sushi rolls. My total came.out to like $45. Not bad at all. Lupe, who was our cashier and server was great and so were the two guys/cooks. Just amazing food and service for good prices. I love when i find hidden gems and the food and service is good!! I'll definitely be back.
