Carmiel Tequeños & Empanadas

Stopped by to give this place a try, glad I did! The staff was friendly & kind & got my order started right away. I tried the chicken empanada - pretty massive! And also tasty. I also tried the tequeyoyo which was like a giant tequeño with plantain and ham inside - this was my favorite! The papa yuca was creamy and cheesy goodness. Definitely recommend! I've had trouble finding Venezuelan places that are reasonably priced and great quality and this place checks those off.

This place is a pretty cool little latin shop in the area. My best friend growing up was from Venezuela, so i grew up eating tequenos at her house for breakfast. These hit the spot here! I was not a huge fan of the carne empanada but that’s just me personally. Will be back for more tequenos though!

Omg when you walk in, it looks like a very average shop barely anything up on the walls but when I tell you, this food is amazing. It’s like a party in your mouth. I will be going back for more.

We were pleasantly surprised at how delicious the food was. When you walk in, it doesn’t look like anything special but my goodness the food was amazing and the service was great! Best empanada I have ever had and it was very well priced!!! Will be back next time we are in Houston!
