They have the best breakfast sandwiches! I loved my sausage egg and cheese sando but the best part was the freshly baked bun! I also had a cookie butter pastry and paired it with a “big kids coffee” which is the coffee of the month, I believe. CAN YALL PLEASE KEEP THE CEREAL INFUSED COFFEE AS A SIGNATURE!? I have to say that was the best breakfast I’ve had in a coffee/ pastry shop! Best coffee! Best sandwich, best baked goods! They even have a small selection of amazing beers! And the people who work there really being the whole place together. I went recently for my friends clothing swap event and was blown away by this gem. I will be back today!

This is a great spot. I showed up once for breakfast and had a breakfast burrito with homemade salsa, and I don't know if I'll ever be able to order anything else for breakfast, because I enjoyed it so much!! I've also tried their pizza, and their burger, and they were both delicious, and large enough to share. But onto the coffee . . . Their coffee program is excellent. If you go in the morning, or anytime before 5 PM, you can try their espresso drinks.Their baristas' attention to detail doesn't go unnoticed. Do I wish their machine was on past 5 pm? Yes. Thankfully the rest of their beverage menu is good too. If you are like me, and don't often make it before the espresso machine gets put up, Canary's cold brew is fantastic. They have other fancy cold brew, flavored drinks, but I haven't tried them. Their chai is also delicious.I like their blend because it is spicy and cardamom forward, which is exactly the way I like it. I don't know if this was always their plan, but having a bodega with local products and general staples was a great idea. I like all the coffee shops that have transitioned to this model during social distancing.. I like picking up the my coffee beans and chai concentrate for the week. I've really enjoyed using their Kenya beans for my at home pour-overs. I get their unsweetened chai for home. I like being able to sweeten it myself, but they also have a sweet version. Alsooo, the barista recommended I pick up the barista milk they carry in the bodega, and it didn't disappoint. They sell some local soaps, but I haven't tried them yet. I just went last night, and they got their TABC license- so now they also serve wine and beer, and also non-alcoholic beer, and hop tea. I'll probably indulge while social distancing, and hanging out in their patio. Next time I drop in, I'll force myself to try something new. Maybe their golden milk, or their abuelita toddy.

Hold on tight because this place knows good flavor! This week is their soft opening. Shhhhh. It's a secret. They won't have the full menu available until they have their grand opening but that's is okay because what they do have to offer is amazing! Staff: Friendly, professional, and on their coffee making game! You've literally got some of the best in Houston on staff here. Coffee: Incredible quality! The coffee comes from none other than Cadenza which is literally right next store and heavily involved in the making of Canary Cafe. Locally owned and roasted by some fantastic people. You HAVE to try the Abuelita Mocha, it's amazing. Today we also ordered a cortado and it's had a wonderful combination of subtle acidity and creamy texture. A favorite for sure. Covid: Yes wear a mask. Canary has some wonderful precautions set in place for the safety of it's employees and customers alike! Once Covid goes away, you can expect lively music and glass clinking. Seating: This will be a full restaurant with outdoor seating. Right now with the soft opening, seating is limited. I just got to-go. Food: I ordered the parfait. They had only been open an hour and were almost sold out. The chef is phenomenal! She has an eye for art and a palate for one too. Honestly the absolute best parfait I have ever had. There were so many complex notes and flavors and everything from consistency to mouth texture hit it for me. I got a parfait because everything else was out and expected nothing exciting but was completely surprised. I cannot wait to try more menu items! Style: The style of Canary is a bit of modern rustic mixed with chic bohemian. They can correct me if I'm wrong, not all of the decor is up. Pops of color and texture satisfy the designers need for character. Market: Canary will also serve as a marketplace! Items are limited for the soft opening but you can grab lots of goodies to take home. Overall, 20 out of 10.

Great atmosphere, friendly staff, quality coffee and treats. I ordered a toasted coconut latte (yum!), house iced tea, chocolate “pop tart”, and cinnamon bun. All delicious and well made. Will be back and recommend to friends.

Fun little cafe and coffee shop with some small items from vendor and drinks and snacks. They have a small indoor area to sit socially distanced and a small outdoor back patio. I really liked the build out and creative flare. The pastries and coffee was good, I'll have to go back and try the food.
