This was my first time trying African food, and Bantu House absolutely exceeded my expectations! Everything was AMAZING. The guy at the front who took our order was so kind and patient and really helped us decide what to get, which made the experience even better. We ordered the puff puff, jollof rice, and chimichurri, and every single dish was a 10/10 — perfectly cooked and full of flavor. I will definitely be recommending this place to my friends, and my friend and I already planned to come back to try more items on the menu. Highly recommend!

It's a no for me. The Egusi was flavorless and tasted weird. The shrimp were also flavorless and not deveined because there was still poop in them! This is not authentic Egusi. I will not be back.

We used Bantu House catering in Cypress for a team lunch of about 100 people last month. The jollof rice, suya, puff puff, meat pies, and grilled chicken were a huge hit and portions were more than enough. Everything arrived on time and the process was very smooth. Highly recommend if you're looking for something different for catering.

My family and I dined here, and the food was superb, Fresh and perfectly seasoned. The ambience is always welcoming, and the staff answered all our questions. We will definitely be back soon!! Came back last week, and the food was great! I cannot have enough of their grilled fish and egusi!!

We went for lunch on Wednesday. While the food was great and piping hot, the service was very slow. Good thing we weren’t in a rush to be anywhere. We ordered 5 sides and it was enough food for us 3 to share. The little puffed donut hole looking starters were delicious! The fried plantains, jollof rice, fried rice were really good, but the star of the show was definitely the empanada-like dish meat pies. The hibiscus and passion fruit drinks were refreshing. We had to wait quite a while for dishes to come out but it was worth it as everything was fresh. We were never checked on once food was served and we never received little plates as the server didn’t understand the request. We ate off napkins. Our server was busy in the back washing dishes and working the register so we waited a long time to pay. I did have to get their attention in the back kitchen area in order to pay. We did leave a tip because it seemed like the place is short staffed and they were doing the best they can. We were the only ones in the restaurant but there was one pickup and maybe a catering job going on. While the service wasn’t what is typical in the States, it is what you receive overseas. To summarize, go for the food but don’t expect to have typical restaurant service. We will go again if not needed to be anywhere within 1.5 to 2 hours.
