This was my first time trying African food, and Bantu House absolutely exceeded my expectations! Everything was AMAZING. The guy at the front who took our order was so kind and patient and really helped us decide what to get, which made the experience even better. We ordered the puff puff, jollof rice, and chimichurri, and every single dish was a 10/10 — perfectly cooked and full of flavor. I will definitely be recommending this place to my friends, and my friend and I already planned to come back to try more items on the menu. Highly recommend!

I took my daughter here last night and was attempting to open her up to some newer cultures and different culinary options. However, I was highly disappointed on all fronts! I've been to 4 Nigerian restaurants in my lifetime, and this unfortunately was the worst experience, especially since moving to Houston. First, it took over 45 minutes to receive Egusi soup for myself and jollof rice, as well as an order of just jollof rice, chicken , and plantains for my daughter. Ive unfortunately never had Egusi soup that was so oily, it looked like pig slop. and it was void of meat. I literally had 3 pieces of goat, and that cost $30!!! The sorrel drink was extremely bitter and didn't taste fresh, and my daughter's chicken was extremely tough and tasted old. The rice was extremely dry as well. She was disappointed that she didn't please me by enjoying the food, but I told her at least she gave it a shot. That's all you can do! But for nearly $60 for all of this, that certainly will be my last time coming until the quality improves. And to make matters worse, it gave my daughter stomach pain at school all day.

It's a no for me. The Egusi was flavorless and tasted weird. The shrimp were also flavorless and not deveined because there was still poop in them! This is not authentic Egusi. I will not be back.

We used Bantu House catering in Cypress for a team lunch of about 100 people last month. The jollof rice, suya, puff puff, meat pies, and grilled chicken were a huge hit and portions were more than enough. Everything arrived on time and the process was very smooth. Highly recommend if you're looking for something different for catering.

My family and I dined here, and the food was superb, Fresh and perfectly seasoned. The ambience is always welcoming, and the staff answered all our questions. We will definitely be back soon!! Came back last week, and the food was great! I cannot have enough of their grilled fish and egusi!!
