Walking in to this restaurant, we didn’t realize it had opened this past month. I kind of judged it harshly at first but the food more than made up for it. Then the owner came by the table to ask us how everything was and gave us a little info on the restaurant. Then it all made sense. I’m excited to have a place like this near me. I hope it takes off and sticks around for good. I had the smothered pork chop with rice which was very tasty. The stand outs to me, though, were the sides. Especially the crawfish Mac and cheese. The cornbread is amazing, too. I thought it was a little pricey at first, but when I was finished eating, the price made sense. I’m looking forward to going back and seeing how they progress with the menu and decor. You should definitely give the place a try!

We came in because we had plans to visit as soon as we got into town. Let me tell you that it was an AMAZING TIME!!! It all stared with Jordan our server who did a great job explaining the menu & then making sure we were taken care of. There portions were so much so that knew we were gonna take food home, but we still ordered more. If you want to be treated right, have good food & have great entertainment this is the spot to go to. This will be our go to spot ever time we come into town! The band was playing music & we're engaging with the crowd which made it even better. The smothered pork chops was so tender that I didn't need a knife & the ox tails were so tender that my cousin couldn't do anything but hold it like a little kid while eating. Such a great experience! WE'LL BE BACK!!!!

We visited twice and both times took our food to go. We enjoyed the food and the dessert was great too! The staff was very friendly and helped with letting us know to come early for the oxtails. Mr O'Neil did a great job. Jada was very helpful and friendly. We will be back once the bar is open.

I really wanted to enjoy this establishment as I’m all about supporting small local businesses however I was left underwhelmed and a little grossed out. The food in the buffet section looked cold and gross as if had been sitting out for a while. I ordered the fried chicken and mashed potatoes with gravy and decided to try their Mac n cheese. A very long 45 minutes later, my food came out. They gave my extra mashed potatoes which were very cold and forgot my gravy, with a very mushy and cold side of Mac n cheese that tasted watered down. Chicken was OK. There was no sweet tea in the container and they were also out of their aguas frescas. The cherry on top was one of their chocolate cakes had mold growing on the cake itself. I would not come back here again.

The people that work here are very friendly and try their hardest. The service was a little slow but we didn't mind. The smothered pork chops were good and the corn was alright nothing too special. But I really liked the mac and cheese even if it wasn't super saucy or cheesy it didn't lack in flavor. The rice was also very good too with the gravy, soft and tasty. The fried chicken, mashed potatoes, yams and green beans were okay. I also got some pound cake that was okay the outer layer was a little hard but the cake itself was yummy and moist. I think it would of been better with some icing. All in all it wasn't amazing but it wasn't horrible. The portions are plentiful but we like Mikki's better.
