Recently started working in the area, wanted to check out nearby places for lunch. Big Bertha's had overwhelmingly positive reviews and I love bbq, so I figured I had to try it at least once. Got a 2 meat plate to go, with moist brisket, chicken, mac & cheese, and beans. Mac and cheese was great, beans were probably a bit too sweet for my liking but otherwise good. Chicken was just OK, it was decently juicy but couldn't taste any seasoning or smoke on the meat. The biggest disappointment was the brisket, because portion size aside the meat was VERY chewy for a moist brisket, with a texture/toughness closer to that of a boiled skirt steak. Moist brisket if done well should be tender enough to collapse under it's own weight for the most part, but I don't expect every place to be able to get to that level of tender. The most brisket I had however, again, was on the drier side and very chewy as a result. Flavor also was somewhat bland, couldn't really taste the smoke flavors through the dry meat. Makes me not really want to spend my money here again, but maybe it was an off day and I can come back in another few weeks or so to give it another shot. Was not worth the $20 for me, hopefully you have a better experience.

By far one of my favorite bbq spots in Houston. Definitely a slept on gem when it comes to bbq. Only open til 2 pm but the owner is always there and is a great person to interact with. He’s definitely on top of quality and customer satisfaction!!

Took my parents here so they could try Texas BBQ and it was just okay. The restaurant has plenty of space to park as well as seating so there were no issues in regards to that. We ordered two 2 meat plates that consisted of brisket, sausage, and pork ribs. For the sides we got coleslaw, street corn, smoked mac/cheese, and baked beans. The brisket had a nice smokey flavor but was definitely on the dry side. As for the pork ribs, the seasoning was good but the meat was quite tough/dry. The best one was probably the sausage with a nice snappy casing. The sides were okay, the beans were my favorite out of the four. Service here is good though! The person who took our order was friendly and I believe the owner came by our table to check in on us and he was very welcoming. Overall, I can’t say that this is the place I’d recommend for good Texas BBQ but the ambiance and staff were great!

My friend saw it on Facebook and we decided to give it a try. The person who took our order, Jasmine, was very friendly and welcoming. While we were placing the order someone said, Alexa play 80's country. Come to find out, it was the boss. We both ordered the 3 meat plates...with baked beans, coleslaw, and fried okra. Went and sat down, then got drinks and condiments. The meats was nice and tender, but very small in portion. The atmosphere was off...I must say that the boss was not very friendly or welcoming to us, but however, he was very friendly with other guests. So, with that being said I would like to thank Jasmine for being so kind to us, but we will not come back.

Excellent food rivals any BBQ place in Houston. Good prices too, and a very welcoming atmosphere. The only thing they should improve is their hours because they close early in my opinion, especially compared to other places, but I think they're working on that. They should also open another location to showcase their excellent cuisine. I'm not a big fan of turkey, but this place has the best I've ever had. The ribs are simply exquisite with the BBQ sauce, and the brisket is decent. 100% recommended.
