Alicia’s Bakery Pupusería y Panadería absolutely deserves a 5-star review! We had the $25 special, which came with 10 pupusas of our choice and 4 chicken flautas topped with cream, lettuce, and tomatoes. Everything was delicious and super filling. What really stood out was how generous they were with the curtido (repollo) and salsa—they don’t hold back at all, which is such a huge plus. In this economy, the affordability and quality here really shine. We also tried the pan con pollo migueleño, which was packed to the brim with flavor. It’s a little messy to eat, but totally worth it. While we waited, we had some baleadas sencillas and they were fantastic—the refried black beans are especially flavorful. Overall, we were really happy with the portion sizes, taste, and price. I also highly recommend trying the pollo frito con tajadas, and for pupusa fillings, go for frijoles con queso or loroco con queso—both are excellent. They offer a variety of soups too, which I’m looking forward to trying next time. I do recommend ordering to-go, since the dine-in setup is pretty basic. Also, a basic understanding of Spanish helps, as most of the staff speak little or no English, or be ready to use Google Translate. I wish they had online ordering (it would make things easier), but luckily, they are on DoorDash. Definitely a hidden gem worth supporting!

If you’re looking for true authentic Salvadoran food, this place is a hidden gem! The Pollo con Tajadas is absolutely delicious—100% one of my favorites. I crave it all the time! Every bite is packed with flavor, and the portions are generous. This is hands down one of the only Salvadoran restaurants I truly love in the Houston/Katy area. The atmosphere is cozy, and the staff always makes you feel right at home. If you haven’t been here yet, you’re missing out on a real taste of El Salvador!

Very friendly and welcoming service. The pupusas are good and I love that they give you plenty of sauce and curtido. Other places are stingy but not here! We tried their pupusas, flautas and plantain empanadas. We will definitely come back :)

Great, affordable Salvadorean food, the Pupusas are awesome, the Atol de Elote is the best in the Houston, Katy area and the Panes con Pollo are big and tasty. No complaints from me or anyone in my family.
