I would like to begin by saying, this restaurant should be removed immediately from all delivery services. Secondly this has to be the easiest scams. What you see in the photos below is $19 dollars + fees and tax + tip Like I thought it was a joke. I’m seriously confused if this was a mistake or did I pay that much money for leftovers? Even the meat was like an insult.

My first visit was yesterday and it was not a good experience and needless to say I won’t be back. I ordered okra, goat, and pounded yam. The menu priced it at 24.99 + 1.75 for the swallow. When I got my bill it was $33. The manager tried to convince me that’s what I needed to pay since their prices increased as well as the goat. As a business owner, you have to ensure your menu prices match today’s price and/or ensure your servers give the disclaimer before the customer orders until your menus are reprinted. After waiting for long they still had trouble making the adjustment to give me the listed price and had the audacity to try to give me the same bill to pay as if I’m stupid and can’t calculate the cost and tax! The issue is that many people (especially Nigerians even in Nigeria don’t question or don’t know to question being overcharged. It’s a foul practice of Store owners. In addition to that bad poor impression the quantity of food definitely did not justify the high price point. I can get much more for $2.00 in Lagos. Taste of Nigeria served a lunch size serving at a full dinner price and you really ought to do better and stop being stingy. The only good thing about my experience is the goat was tender. The okra was a bit too slimy….just like the overall experience. Look at this rubbish.

My boyfriend and I ordered food after we got off of work and arrived a couple minutes past closing. The owners were kind and let us grab our food. I got the egusi and it is phenomenal, especially since it is my first time trying Nigerian food. My boyfriend got the ox tail with plantains and spinach, he finished his entire plate. The oxtails were very big (he already ate the first one when I took the photo) and it’s safe to say he was definitely satisfied. We will be returning, you should definitely give it a try!

Taste of Nigeria really lives up to the name. The food is rich, authentic, and packed with flavor you can tell it’s made with love and tradition. The seasoning is on point, portions are generous, and every bite tastes like real Nigerian home cooking. From the jollof to the meats and sides, everything hits the way it’s supposed to. The atmosphere is welcoming, and the staff makes you feel comfortable whether it’s your first time or you already know Nigerian food. If you’re craving real African cuisine or want to experience Nigerian flavors done right, this spot is definitely worth it.
