Bay bae!!! Where do I start! First thing my sister said when we drove up was that the lot was empty for 6pm on a Saturday night. We went in and we were greeted. I am a real foreal cook so I know good food. I had read a review that said the food was lukewarm but the other reviews were good so we decided to give them a chance. So I asked if the food was hot and fresh and girl said yes with a big smile but them sweet potatoes had a thick dark film over the top letting me know they hadn’t been stirred in hours smh. Any way we ordered baked chicken and ribs and potato salad and fried okra and my husband had the pulled pork baked potato. We got our drinks and sat down. I smelled tainted meat and my sister who is a cook as well said to me it smells tainted don’t it? I said yep! The ribs were tainted. I wanted to get a refund but my husband told me to let it go this time because his food was edible but not hot and fresh. They kept staring at us. No one came by to ask if everything was okay. They didn’t ask because they already knew it wasn’t fresh like I had asked before we ordered. Y’all look how the chicken and ribs were dried out smh!!! I didn’t even take a pick if the potatoe salad but the cut up potatoes were more raw than cooked because the edges were too sharp. No seasoning at all on nothing. I had two words for my husband: NEVER AGAIN!!! Point blank period. You’ve been warned. Old, lukewarm food with zero flavor unless you count black pepper as flavor. Y’all ought to be ashamed serving cold old food with no flavor at the prices yall charge. And again, NEVER AGAIN!!!

I ordered a beef rib, a pound of brisket, the dirty rice, and the macaroni and cheese. Everything was really good! While I personally prefer my brisket to be more on the moist side than lean, theirs was still flavorful and enjoyable. The real shining star was the beef rib—it was immensely flavorful, tender, and absolutely incredible. The dirty rice had a bold flavor with a nice little kick, which paired perfectly with the meats. The macaroni and cheese was creamy and comforting, and I loved that they used the larger noodles. It could have used just a touch more pepper for my taste, but it was still very good. Overall, this was a fantastic experience, and I will definitely be going back. 9ers BBQ in Richmond is well worth a visit!

Got delivery; brisket baked potato no sour cream. Side of greenbeans side of Ranch beans. Have had burgers from 9er's before and they are always a hit. We went to 9ers as teens in the early 2000s as a treat and the quality holds up. The baked potato called to me and it wasn't a disappointment but not my favorite. Portion size can't be denied, it's going to be 2 meals. The size of the potato as well as the other toppings, in ratio to meat could've been better but it's the luck of the potato pulled from the bunch, and how its dressed. Not a huge issue. The bacon was crisp, in good size bites and was also nice and peppery! Cheese was melted, good flavor and traveled well. Onions were fresh and I wanted more, love that fresh bite. I didn't love the taste of the BBQ sauce but I you like a sweeter smokier taste, it's very well represent here. The brisket had good smoke, was well seasoned but nothing above the Texas standard of just good quality brisket. The Ranch beans were well made, good portion and well seasoned. I've never had Ranch beans seasoned this way, celery was a prominent taste but not overpowering and that's from someone who doesn't like celery. The bean texture was ideal, just firm enough, nice sauce texture. Green beans were absolutely perfect. Great crunchy texture, fresh greenbeans are one of my favorites and they NAILED it. Well seasoned with what seemed like only salt and pepper; simple but so right. The fresh onions gave a spicey bite I enjoyed but could've been a little more cooked. I don't care for a raw tomato despite being a grown adult. I tried one piece and it was fresh, well seasoned and the acidity didn't hit me wrong like most tomatoes do. The texture was also not unpleasant to me either. I was genuinely impressed by a food I frequent avoid. Over all well done and crafted. Traveled well. Was glad to try an item and location different from my usual.

This “pit stop” was a nice detour. I haven’t heard of 9er’s BBQ before but I decided to give it a try. Arrived at noon on a Tuesday and it wasn’t too busy yet. It’s cafeteria style and the menu is posted in large signs on the wall. I like that! Oh, the pit cage is in front of the building. It would have been nice to have those delicious smells filling the air on this day. I dined in and had the pork rib (2) and pulled pork plate with 2 sides (corn and pinto beans). The pulled pork was moist with a nice flavor. The ribs were seasoned well but didn’t have the outrageous amount of smoked flavor I expected. The meat didn’t fall off the bone easily, but had a bit of “umm-umm” in every bite. All around it was a good meal. I won’t go out of my way to dine here, but if I’m on that side of town, I’ll try it. The owner was on site and he was very nice. Greeted every table.
