This place was open later in the evening past 9 on a Thursday night. It was really packed. The small parking lot was so full half of us had to park down the street in the neighborhood. There is patio seating. The dining area had a bar, high tops and regular dining seating. The decor was cute with tons of twinkle lights. The air was nice and cold for the Houston heat. They serve breakfast all day since they open later. Service was friendly, quick and knowledgeable. There are options for vegans/vegetarians. We received our order VERY quickly in spite of the crowded conditions. My daughter had coconut shrimp, meatball chicken sub, hurricane, and a shot. Her boyfriend had burger and fries, mixed drink and a shot. My husband had sweet and sour cauliflower, hashbrowns and bacon. I had the roasted carrot tacos. In short, everything was DELICIOUS!! Caution: the sub meat was very spicy if you don't like that. But the cheese was everything!! I did not put the crema on the carrot taco but the corn tortilla tasted home made and the veggies were good. The bacon was thick like salt pork, but good. The cauliflower is my favorite!! Sauce was just right. Pieces were very large. The hashbrowns were awesome as well. They said the drinks, burger and fries were great as well. I plan to return here asap. I HIGHLY recommend this place!!

Love the tiki vibe of this place. And everything was so colorful and festive, includingthe food and drinks. I visited when it was warm and the patio was really nice! Lots of both food and alcohol options. The fusion food menu is really interesting. There were several things on the menu that I wouldn't mind coming back to try, next time I'm in Houston.

We chose to eat outside because the weather was nice. I ended with a very rich and slightly salty. I took it to go because I was so full. And my mouth was on fire from the fries. We started with drinks and an appetizer. I didn’t taste the Rings of Saturn. But my daughter liked it. She didn’t finish it, however. I had Vamos a la Playa and it was really good. It was a little strong, but it was perfect. For lunch I had The Cuban and my daughter had a chicken sandwich. My daughter enjoyed the Crispy Chicken Sandwich. I had The Cubano and it was very good. The bread was crispy. The inside was very good. I would definitely order that again. The Toco Fried Rice with kimchi was absolutely delicious. If you like kimchi rice, you will love this. I could go there and only order this and be happy as a clam. Downside… we had these very spicy, but delicious fries. But there was a hair in the sauce. But I must say, it was delicious. Super spicy and if you love, love, love spice, I suggest you get this. Your mouth will tingle and burn. However, it’s the most delicious type of burn. Side note: we did tell our server and he got us another order and didn’t charge us for the fries. The service was good. It was strange that the server left during lunch. He was nice, a little timid, maybe. But the server who took his place was very, very nice. More outgoing and fun.

The Toasted Coconut is one of those spots you go to for the vibe—and in that regard, it absolutely delivers. The atmosphere is fun, laid-back, and feels like a tropical escape right in the middle of Houston. But the real standout here? The drinks. What we ordered: Toasted Coconut (cocktail) Banana Hammock (cocktail) Cucumber salad Fried chicken Cubano Coconut shrimp The cocktails were excellent. Both the Toasted Coconut and Banana Hammock were well-balanced, flavorful, and easily the highlight of the visit. These alone make the place worth coming back. Food (quick ratings in words): Cucumber salad: average — fresh, but nothing memorable Fried chicken: average — solid, but didn’t stand out Cubano: below average — too much gristle and fat, and the flavors didn’t come together Coconut shrimp: poor — noticeable freezer burn and barely any coconut flavor Pricing didn’t help the experience either. For what you’re paying, not including a side with the meals feels like a miss and makes the value hard to justify. Service was solid and the overall vibe is what carries this place. It’s lively, unique, and a great hangout spot. Final verdict: Come for the drinks and atmosphere, not the food. We’d definitely come back—but strictly for another round at the bar. Crave Factor: 🔥🔥🔥 (Would come back, but only for drinks)

Came here yesterday to celebrate a birthday dinner and had the most fun I've had in awhile. Amazing food and great prices! I wish I remembered my waiters name but he was polite and patient with us! Plenty of food to take home with me at the end since we all shared with each other. EVERYTHING and I mean everything we tried was PERFECT. Cauliflower was perfect the burger was amazing alllll the drinks were stellar and I think it was the perfect Wednesday evening party that doubled as a reunion of sorts. Wonderful meal at a great price point for the quality and portions!!
