We went to see the Terracotta Warriors show and Butterfly Garden at the Houston Museum of Natural Science. This was a wonderful experience to see the terracotta warrior exhibit. My husband is a history buff so he shared some fantastic facts with me anyone who wanted to listen and talk to him lol There was some fun exhibits all around the museum. I enjoyed the butterfly garden. It’s so beautiful and enjoyed walking around to see the butterflies. My husband loved checking out the dinosaur and rock exhibit. This is a great place to check out with your family.

This was a great experience. Lots of interactive things to do. It's a huge museum so plan on being there all day! So much variety of things to see. From nature to Egypt to tiaras and dolls, as well as some dead bodies found in pyramids. We ate in the elements grill their in the museum. Good food, and it wasnt very expensive, just a tad over $10 a person for food. Very enjoyable experience, can't wait to go back!

Visiting was amazing! A lot to see, so and buy. Please be prepared to spend $$$ if buying food there. They do however have really cheap souvenirs and gifts. You're going to need at least 2 hours for the main exhibition. The butterfly exhibit was by far the best! At one point you come across the rain forest that has real butterflies!! There's thousands of them. You can “ donate” $20 to release one while there. We weren't a fan of that, seemed gimmicky. We also did the 3D movie about T-Rex Wyrex. Very informative and fun to watch. We would suggest leaving kids who are unable to mind themselves home if going to the 3D movie. It's expensive and having kids who can govern themselves accordingly will become frustrating. Lastly, get the Membership! It's for a year, doesn't auto-renew, main exhibit is free, parking at museum garage only 10 and you get a lot of discounts. Before membership total was $134, after $84. This was for two adults. Also signing up that day came with 1 free ticket for certain exhibits. ( If you go downstairs and follow the Egyptian walls, there is sort of mini zoo. You will have to pay to view. Overall 9/10! Only issue was the price of food and it tasted worse than a wendys, BK, MD, etc. Will be back this year for sure.

A must see. Going in the morning right when they open was a much better experience rather than later in the afternoon, there was no wait for any special exhibit. The butterfly center was a highlight- it was $15, separate from the main museum ticket but fully worth it. The main museum had a beautiful seashell exhibit, and you can tell that the preservationists and exhibitionists put so much care and attention into their work at that museum. Another highlight was the indigenous peoples of North america exhibit on the fourth floor- it was so thoughtfully put together, and discussed modern indigenous issues as well, including highlighting the missing and murdered indigenous women’s movement and having a TV showing current events related to indigenous people. The exhibit was extremely respectful and felt curated from the perspective that the people featured are still living today and are not just artifacts in a museum to balk at.

We loved this museum! Many times, the highlight of a museum is one of their special exhibits but not so with the Houston Museum of Natural Science. The regular exhibits were every bit as interesting as their special ones. We bought extra admittance to the Terracotta Warriors and King Tut's Tomb. They were worth it! The Terracotta Warriors and artifacts displays was amazing. I learned a lot about the sculpting and the excavating of these incredible statues. King Tut's Tomb did not disappoint. The dinosaur skeletons, huge collection of shells, the Americas, and the Egyptians are a few of the areas worth exploring. The Morian Cabinet of Curiosities was pretty special. An especially fun area was the science room with lots of hands-on experiments; it was fun for all ages. This museum is fantastic.
