I had an amazing time. It gives chance to dress up and enjoy the arts. People were also dressed down so it’s up to you. They have a special called 40 under 40. Where they give young adults a special to buy expensive seats for $40. This is a way to try the Opera without breaking the bank. No video or pictures of the performance please!

I remember seeing my first opera, The marriage of Figaro buy Wolfgang Mozart back in 2023 and as me and my mother we're going to take our seats in the balcony section we were upgraded to the orchestra level and got good seats! The stars of the Opera were one of my favorite orchestras the Houston grand opera Orchestra! Are you guys also have some very nice elevators!

Attending the Houston Grand Opera at the Wortham Center for the first time was an absolutely astonishing experience. The performance of Madame Butterfly was nothing short of mesmerizing, bringing the opera to life with vivid displays that immersed the audience in the narrative. The Chinese actor in the lead role exhibited exceptional vocal prowess, leaving the audience in awe. The entire cast displayed a level of professionalism that held my attention throughout the performance; I couldn't take my eyes off the stage, not wanting to miss a single moment. The dedication and practice evident in the opera singers, sustaining such intricate and powerful performances over extended periods, truly showcased their commitment to their craft. I am genuinely amazed by the talent and artistry witnessed, and I highly recommend this show to everyone. It's a testament to the incredible dedication of the opera singers, and I look forward to returning whenever Houston Grand Opera presents something new. Bravo to the entire team for an unforgettable evening of opera excellence.

I had the most wonderful time. Got a ticket to Madame Butterfly the night before and was seated in the upper balcony, front row center. Really couldn't see the upper stage area but all the action was up front. The sopranos were fantastic and their duets tearful and amazing. A great venue in a lovely plaza location. I look forward to my next trip to Houston and will definitely catch the opera.

Easy to park, easy to enter. Underground self-parking lot is a flat $15 for events and in the next building over. You'll have to cross the street where valets and taxis pick up and drop off directly. It took about half an hour to leave the garage after a show, which was much better than expected. Seats are comfortable considering the venue. I went without my lumbar support just fine. The slope at the orchestra level is good enough. Seats are staggered so that you are in between the two seats in front of you. The projections box for translations is at the top of the stage, which is quite high. At Row J, my eyes were constantly up to read the translations and the actors were not in my peripheral view, so I felt like I missed many gestures and facial expressions. Perhaps Row N would be a nice compromise between seeing the performers' faces while also being able to more easily glance up at the translations without missing the story. Seat 4 is probably the furthest out I would go on Orchestra Right or Orchestra Left because the side of the stage ends close to there. (See attached photo.) Any further and you might miss something happening in the back corner of the stage.
