Celebrating The 100th year of Black History through the Excellence of black music with presentations from different genres was so wonderful. There was classical pianists, jazz quintets, opera singers and last but least gospel music ftom Kurt Karr and the Karr singers, and the one only Ms. Jennifer Holiday from Dream Girls. It was a life changing experience. I can't wait until next year!

Spirit-Filled, Bible-based, welcoming place of worship. Wow! I immediately felt the genuine love and warmth by everyone I encountered today. Thank you, Lord, for this house of prayer. Bless them and keep them growing! Thank you, Wheeler, for making this Louisiana girl feel at home!

My church! It’s the best. I am bias. This is a wonderful place to raise kids. They have so many activities and ways to get involved. Couples, singles and families something for everyone! And I enjoy volunteering and working with the Girl Scout Program.

Wheeler Avenue Baptist Church always been great from the time you enter for service, to the end! Me and my family are always anointed by the choir! The band.. the ambiance of the choir, the band, the music and the atmosphere left me so anointed and happy to keep coming back every week. I wanted to say that and also the Bible Study on Wednesdays, I enjoy too. I brought my Mother in Law to come and she was raving about service the whole time back home. I enjoy listening to the word. If you are looking for a place to belong, a place to grow or a place to find peace, come join us on this journey! Beyond the community, this is where we come to be filled spiritually!! Just don’t ask them for no money because Maria rude Guillory that be in Matthew 25, will not help you. Just praise and worship, and smile. ❤️ Acts 20:28 Pay careful attention to yourselves and all the flock, in which the Holy Spirit made you overseers, to care for the church of God, which he obtained with his own blood. Amen!

My reason for giving this rating is not because Marcus D. Cosby, the Praise Team, and the Choir did not do an amazing job, because they truly did. The message was powerful, and the worship experience was uplifting. However, the reason for my rating was due to the extremely rude interaction my husband, Dr. Bishop Curtis Washington, and I experienced with an usher named Dianne. We were invited by our dear friend, Dr. Helen Delahoussaye, to come and fellowship at Wheeler Avenue Baptist Church since we had never visited before. First impressions matter, and unfortunately that interaction could have easily caused someone to stumble in their faith or feel unwelcome. Thankfully, the powerful message preached by Dr. Cosby truly shook the house and reminded us of why we came, to worship and receive the Word. The Praise Team and Choir were also absolutely incredible. My prayer is that every guest who walks through the doors will feel welcomed and embraced in the spirit of Christ.
