Recently served as a juror for the 230 District court, Judge Morton. I must say for someone who did not want to get picked. I had a wonderful time serving for 3 days, we as a jury were treated very well and I served with some of the most nicest people from Harris county, we had very good chemistry as a group and a genuine good time. Judge Morton is a hoot, very funny, while yet very professional. Bailiffs Bowers and Jackson made sure we had everything we needed. All in all I enjoyed my service, I learned allot about the system and how it operates, thanks to all who served alongside of me, you guys were the best.

It was very difficult to navigate, if you aren't a criminal, and you're just there to support one. It is especially not handicapped friendly, no close parking. Which makes it difficult if you have mobility problems and you have an 80 yr old with you. With that said, my hats off to the employees. They were very helpful, friendly and respectful and just down right amazing at times. No bad attitudes here...js Which we very much appreciated.

The staff were extremely friendly and helped me out so much every morning when I was going to jury duty. The only reason for less stars is because of the x ray security machine. It was broken and wasn’t going to be fixed within two months. The employees deserve better equipment and service than this.

I was assaulted in May of 2024 by a random male as I exited the elevator and proceeded to the lobby. I was threatened by the male who appeared to have visited the court as a defendant. As I approached the gates near the constables podium who sat elbow to elbow while they were distracted by the entertainment on their personal cellphones. I stepped back to ask for protection from the 2 males officers who proceeded to harshly yell at me in a condescending tone to exit the gates and rushed me away. I held back and hid hoping the assailant had exited. I was advised to exit by the officers and shortly after physically assaulted by the assailant while in the courthouse!!! The assailant then hurried off on a bike while laughing and continued to mock me for "hiding" from him. I have at least $10k in bills. The officers were not providing public security in a county courthouse and as a result of the officers and county's negligence I was assaulted in the courthouse, resulting in a physical injury, mental and monetary damages to name a few. I've reported the incident to the county which has been ignored on 3 separate attempts to submit a claim. I have all the evidence and the footage is available on the courthouse surveillance system along with additional supporting documentation. I will move forward with a civil rights complaint to seek resolution and implement security changes to prevent this hate crime from reoccurring to another innocent defenseless citizen.

This is my 1st time in the building. I arrived at 8am. Make sure to read all the signs. No lighters are allowed. I had my backpack packed with chargers for phones and laptops. I also had my laptop, lunch coconut water in a can, headphones, journal, midol, lotion, honey, tea sachets, herbal supplements, gloves, beanie and everything else I needed for this very cold and busy day for me in downtown. My docket was for 9am, I arrived at the security shakedown at 8am. It took about 5 mins or less for the security to go through my stuff. I almost forgot my laptop. I was stopped by security, he kept telling me to go to the blue ticket line to get my laptop. He was not trying to understand that the security officers at the metal detectors and conveyor belt still had my laptop. I kindly told him I was going to redirect myself to the lady and the gentleman that processed my backpack and items. They handed me my laptop. The young sir that searched my backpack did confiscate my 1000lumen mini flashlight but handed me a 🔵 ticket that I wrote my name on to retrieve at the #10green wall at the front of the building when I'm done with business for the day. My advice is to be EARLY for your court, even if it means being 1 or 2 hours early. Hence, as to why I had so much stuff in my backpack. The only thing I was missing was a book to read. I could read a book on my phone, but I prefer a physical book. Anyhow, I am 45 mins early for my docket call, so I decided to write this review, to give some people a perspective of the security check getting into the court house. Be prepared to go through a through TSA type of security. The only thing they didn't do was frisk me. You do have to remove your shoes when getting in line. You also go through a metal detector. You have to remove belts shoes jackets, sweaters and put your bags or backpacks into bins to be put through the x-ray conveyor belt. Just me early and be prepared and don't take anything personal going through security.
