I was pleased by Dr Chan’s active listening and willingness to discuss issues. I felt heard and appreciated the questions she asked that led to a presentation of options. I love that she went an extra step to obtain and confirm data before prescribing and altering meds. Additionally, she willingly supports a “let me think about that” approach to treatment options. Providing me a list of specialists (PPO insurance) and being considerate of my commute for lab work and specialists is a welcome service! Her assistant is kind, efficient, and professional.

I had an excellent experience with Dr. Folake Orehin and the entire team at Core Primary Care. As someone who is new to Houston and establishing primary care for the first time here, I truly appreciated how welcoming and supportive everyone was from start to finish. Dr. Orehin was attentive, knowledgeable, and took the time to really listen to my concerns without rushing the visit. She made me feel comfortable, respected, and confident in the care I was receiving. Her professionalism paired with genuine kindness made a lasting impression. The staff was just as wonderful—friendly, helpful, and efficient throughout the entire process. From scheduling to check-in and follow-up, everything felt smooth and well-organized. I’m grateful to have found such a caring and reliable primary care provider. I highly recommend Dr. Orehin and Core Primary Care to anyone looking for quality, compassionate healthcare.

Exceptional service and care! It was easy to get an appointment and the staff and PA were great. It was minimal wait time (probably less than a minute) when I arrived and parking was easy as well. I couldn't have asked for a better experience.

Dr. Banton is hands down one of the best doctors I’ve ever had. She is patient, kind, and makes you feel completely comfortable discussing any concerns. She explains everything clearly and truly cares about her patients. I’m so grateful to have found her! Her personality is also top tier and super welcoming.

I just called a few moments ago and spoke with someone at the front desk asking to speak with Dr. Avery, she refused to allow me to speak with her, receive a call back, or provide a direct email for me to share some information and follow up as a previous patient without paying for an appointment. So I thought it would be best to share the information publicly to ensure that she sees it and to share the information with other patients. Over 4 years ago I visited Dr. Avery with complaints about joint inflammation and Abdominal discomfort. Dr. Avery was very sweet, so I do want to note that she is a very kind provider. After she ordered some basic blood tests including the antinuclear antibody test that came back positive, she referred me to a rheumatologist. I’m sure this is standard procedure, however, it’s a part of a systematic issue within the health care system. It has taken years of multiple doctors visits, lots of testing and money wasted, A misdiagnosis from the rheumatologist that almost led to potential pharmaceutical harm from an unnecessary and dangerous immunosuppressant prescription , and a lot of independent research to find out that my issues were 100% nutrient deficiency and diet related. And have since been completely reversed. It has been an absolute nightmare to go through this process that could have been prevented and taken care of years ago if a simple Vitamin and micro nutrient test had been ordered or recommended as a form of holistic primary care. I understand how the system is set up regarding insurance companies intentionally excluding preventative testing like this, but I do want to share this information with her and anyone else that those deficiencies are often a root cause for chronic illness that can be avoided. I truly hope that this helps someone, And I hope that the receptionist receives some feedback about the way she handles calls— she was very unpleasant and very unhelpful. For anyone interested, the vitamin deficiencies were extremely low ferritin, low vitamin D, and low magnesium in combination with gluten sensitivity to a diet high in processed foods and sugar. God bless.
