Couldn’t be happier with my haircut! The attention to detail, precision, and overall vibe were amazing from start to finish. Huge shout out to Marcelino because he absolutely nailed it! If you’re looking for someone who truly knows their craft and makes you feel confident walking out the door, I highly recommend Marcelino. I’ll definitely be back!

I’ve been coming to Boardroom Salon for 3 years now. Since working downtown found this location (since June 2025) was much easier for me to get to than going back to the North location. Friday, when i came in on a last minute appointment setting. Didn’t see the usual guy that i go to which was Jason. But the clerk and Daphne highly recommend that I go to the new barber in which his name was Marcelino. They stated he was a very good barber and I should give him a try. In which i took their advice, as they helped out a couple times before. Marcelino did not disappoint as he listened well, gave good advice on what he could do to work with you. Knowledgeable and good spirits. Personalities like that help keep the good standard of Boardroom Salon business. Haven’t been to all locations, just the Kingwood, Woodlands, and Washington Avenue. So far I’ve had good time at the locations and the people there are great.

Marcelino is an excellent barber! He does an amazing job with haircuts, beard trims, and takes his time to make sure everything is clean, sharp, and well-styled. He also washes and styles your hair, which really makes the experience feel professional and complete. I especially appreciate his recommendations — he suggested a haircut that fit me perfectly. If you’re looking for a skilled, detail-oriented barber, I highly recommend Marcelino!

I want to start by saying the staff is great and every employee is energetic and courteous. I felt welcomed and complimentary drink was great. Now to the reason for the 1 star, I was originally going to be taken care of by a lady but I didn’t catch her name. I showed her my the style I wanted and she said she wouldn’t be able to do it since she isn’t familiar with that style so she suggested I move with the barber available who’s name is Jonathan. The lady said he specializes in burst fades and mullets in particular so I felt in good hands. Jonathan is a great guy and I’m sure he has skills, just not when it comes to the hair style I asked for. I went in and asked for a burst fade mullet. All I wanted was my sides to have nice fade and the length from the top to be slightly shorter while still keeping bulk to compliment the haircut. Instead, I came out looking like Joe Dirt. I had asked him multiple times to keep it like the reference picture I showed him but he kept trying to change what was asked. I let him choose since he is the barber not me, so I trusted him to work some magic. I have been growing my hair since November so I had a good amount of hair and he complimented my hair, but said “We can do something way better than what you’re asking for”. He showed me a style he think would look good but it was far too short for what I wanted. I had turned it down, but while we were still discussing how to go forth with my initial reference photo he once again repeats the statement from earlier. As the customer, we can be open to suggestions but if we decline it once I don’t believe it should be pushed again. I didn’t lose faith in him though but halfway through the haircut, he seemed to have lost his cool. He was not rude by no means but the energy felt off as if he was upset with how the haircut looked. I was also booked for the benchmark which includes a hair wash, styling, massages, hot towel treatment, and a hand wax. I only was offered the wash and hand wax. I only accepted the wash but I was not offered any of the other services. Once the haircut was done he walked me to the front desk and he took a deep breath and extended his hand for a handshake, which I respect, but looked very annoyed and not as enthusiastic as he was in the beginning of the haircut. After I checked out, I sat in my car and got a good look of the haircut and was not happy at all. I had to go to a different barber to get it all fixed and in the end lost about 3-4 months of hair growth. How I mentioned earlier, Jonathan was a great guy and I’m sure he is a great barber but I was led to believe that he specializes in mullets and burst fades, which in my experience, turned out to not be the case. Finally, the staff was great and the review has nothing to do with their customer service skills. The young lady in the front was very nice as well. The issue was with the haircut and how it turned out to be. Just make sure if you come here with a very specific haircut, this might not be the place for you.

I was pretty close to giving up on getting a last-minute haircut, but the Washington Boardroom completely surprised me. I called and left a voicemail and actually got a call back, which almost never happens anymore, so that already stood out to me. Tori was great, really welcoming and helpful, and she was able to fit me in quickly. Marcelino was my barber and he was awesome. He was kind, easy to talk to, and clearly passionate about his craft. He took his time, paid attention to the details, and the cut came out excellent. The whole experience honestly changed how I feel about Boardroom. I had canceled my membership in the past, but after this visit, I felt good about renewing it. You could tell the whole team gets along well and cares about the experience they provide. Shoutout to Tori, Marcelino, and the entire Washington Heights Boardroom team for doing a great job. -Nate
