Halal Philly cheeses steak

I’ve been to The Halal Guys several times, and this location has consistently been excellent. I ordered their sandwich with spicy BBQ chicken and beef gyro, and added jalapeños for an extra kick. The falafel is solid as well. I also tried the Chocolate Baklava Cheesecake, which was a great dessert to finish the meal.

Now bought out by Gyro Hut. Food was still halal guys style, not gyro hut style. (Halal guy's style being obviously superior) They switched the order taking process, they no longer make the food as you order it. I had to wait 10 + minutes after placing my order to get my food. There was no one in line when I showed up, just 4 people just sitting there waiting for their food to be made. Halal guys was cheap, the food was fantastic, and you got it instantly. I will not return, I wouldn't even go back if they gave me the food for free. You have killed one of my favorite restaurants, and for that you cannot be forgiven.

I ordered the chicken over rice. The first few bites tasted a little off, kind of foul, but I was starving and ignored the red flag. I ended up finishing it anyway because I was so hungry. Big mistake. The next day I paid for it. I had really bad stomach cramps and nonstop diarrhea. It was miserable and honestly not worth it. Food safety should be the bare minimum. Based on my experience, I’d avoid this place at any cost. Very bad food.

I think I may have just found my staple halal place! Although this restaurant is stationed like a grab n go, there is plenty of indoor and outdoor seating! I love that it’s handicap accessible and kid friendly. The interior is designed tastefully and outgoing wall art bright bubbly colors and artfully crafted seating tables. The food!!! Don’t get me started on the food! Marinated overnight, you tasted some of the juiciest chicken and beef over top of perfected cooked rice! They will ask you if you want spice, sauces, and bbq sauce! You will say yes to all of these! Sit back, eat, relax and enjoy the wonderful flavors of roasted peppercorn, and a variety of spices! The staff was very helpful and actually recommended that I get the combination plate with all the fixings and toppings. They were not wrong!

This location is CLOSED PERMANENTLY! Sold to a much worse and more expensive competitor. Halal Guys food is great but I'm not going to drive outside the beltway for it. They could at least have the decency to mark the location as closed. (I assume all the other nearby locations that say "temporarily closed" are also going to be or have been replaced.)
