I went to Fat Cat Creamery in the Stomping Grounds of Houston, which is a great little development and currently the only ice cream spot in that area. Fat Cat Creamery is a woman-owned, Houston-based ice cream company that started in 2011 after the founders couldn’t find good craft ice cream in the city. They make small-batch ice cream completely from scratch using Texas whole milk, heavy cream, egg yolks, and locally sourced ingredients, and they also emphasize environmentally friendly, compostable packaging. The ice cream itself is clearly high quality, with unique and well-executed flavors. That said, I am very particular about ice cream texture and prefer a harder, more frozen style that you can really bite into. Fat Cat’s ice cream is very soft and melty, which just isn’t my personal preference. [ICE CREAM] +Small-Batch Ice Cream By The Scoop for $4.25 – The flavors are good and thoughtfully made, but the texture is very soft and melts quickly. It’s not bad ice cream by any means, just not the style I personally enjoy. - 3.5/5 Overall, Fat Cat Creamery is doing something right and clearly has a strong following, especially if you like softer, creamier ice cream. I appreciate their presence in Stomping Grounds and the quality of ingredients, but the texture keeps this from being a favorite for me.

Friendly servers. Pricing was pretty good. The ice cream was quality. Flavors were unique and not really my cup of tea. They were fun. Very little was mixed into the ice cream. I'm sure little kids would be happy here.

Amazing ice cream but need more staff to make the purchase experience better. Went there 3 times and each time only one person is working. The girl working there is nice but can tell she’s super overwhelmed so I got 1 pint instead of 2 like I planned because I can tell she’s about to lose it when there are 6 more people and DoorDasher are all waiting and asking her for stuff. Two other times it’s a male employee and he had attitude both times and made me feel like spending my money here is inconvenience for him. I tipped extra feeling bad for him but his attitude repeatedly really rubbed me the wrong way. I loved the ice cream but I hope the owner sees the review and improve the customer service aspect of it. I absolutely love the ice cream but I probably won’t return as customer until this issue is fixed. I’m tired of spending money while feeling guilty to order or getting the stink attitude

7/29/2025 at between 630p-7p we visited Fat Cat Creamery!! We were greeted with friendly staff. So many delicious flavors to choose from. My sons tried the Coca-Cola Ice Cream floats and enjoyed them!! I had the Whiskey Butter Pecan (2 scoops) and thoroughly enjoyed it. My husband had a scoop of Texas Hummingbird and scoop of Graham Central Station on a waffle cone and was a fan of the Graham Central Station but not the Texas Hummingbird but was good overall. We would definitely visit them again if we’re in the area again.

So I went to Fat Cat Creamery at the Houston Airport, please listen to me closely when I say this —you’re going to spend a pretty penny on the ice cream, (I personally got the milkshake) now at the airport it’s only one size, and it’s like $10 (price could be in this range because of it being at the airport) but LET ME TELL YOU, PAY THEM THE MONEY….ITS GOOD, ITS EASILY ONE OF THE BEST TASTING ICE CREAM I HAVE EVER HAD. It’s rich in flavor, not overly sweetened like some creameries will do to mask the lack of flavor. It’s creamy, not milky/runny, it’s all the things that I want out of ice cream when I get it! It instantly took me to a happy place where I wanted to devour all of it but I knew I needed to slow down and savor each sip. I love some vanilla ice cream, but I need you all to trust me when I say this is not your run- of-the-mill vanilla ice cream. I had it hours ago and I’m still thinking about it! Amazing. Would recommend.
