Best Tacos in Tomball, TX: 9 Taquerias, Trucks and Taco Plates

Date Published

Best tacos in Tomball TX illustration: three tacos, salsa and a taco truck by a railroad depot at night

The best tacos in Tomball, TX come from nine places: Taqueria Vilchis, Los Arcos, Cenas Kitchen and Margaritas & Fajitas on Tomball Parkway (Highway 249); Hee Haw’s Tacos & Tequila, Cisco’s Salsa Company and the La Costa del Golfo #2 truck at 403 EATS in Old Town; Las Piñatas Kitchen on Alma Street; and El Chaparro on Kuykendahl Road. If you only have time for one, go to Las Piñatas Kitchen for birria tacos on tortillas pressed by hand every morning.

Here’s the line for your group chat: a Tomball taco day can start with a 6 a.m. breakfast taco on Tomball Parkway and end with a 20-taco wheel on a Sunday night, with a birria truck parked at a food truck park run by a former Tomball mayor in between.

Where does Tomball start and stop?

For this guide, Tomball means the City of Tomball plus the surrounding area with a Tomball mailing address inside four roads: Spring Cypress Road to the south, Hufsmith-Kohrville Road to the west, Holderrieth Road to the north and Kuykendahl Road to the east. That covers Old Town around Main, Market and Commerce streets, the Highway 249 (Tomball Parkway) corridor and FM 2920. Spring, Cypress, Creekside Park and The Woodlands have their own guides, so their taquerias aren’t here. See our Tomball area page for the wider picture.

How we chose

Every pick was confirmed open on its own official website (or, for the truck, the official site of the park where it parks) in October 2026, with a Tomball address inside the boundary above and tacos on its current menu. We favored places where tacos are a real reason to go and left out national chains. Places whose official sites we couldn’t reach or read are left out for now.

Hours and prices change, so read every schedule below as “typically” and check the restaurant’s site before you drive.
