- Best Seafood in Richmond, TX: Oysters, Crawfish and Gulf Fish
The best seafood in Richmond, TX starts at Pier 36 Seafood & Oyster Bar on US-90A, the city's only dedicated oyster bar on this list, and runs through crawfish by the pound at 7Spice Cajun Seafood in Aliana, redfish and ceviche on the Mason Road corridor, and sushi at Fuji Sushi & Grill in Waterview Town Center. This guide lists eight Richmond seafood picks, each checked on its own official website in November 2026.
Here's the line for the group chat: in Richmond, crawfish turns up where you least expect it. It's rolled into sushi at Top Sushi, baked into enchiladas at Red River Cantina, and spooned over redfish at Las Mañanitas, all on the restaurants' own menus.
What counts as Richmond in this guide?
Richmond here means the City of Richmond itself (the 77469 zip code around Historic Downtown) plus the unincorporated Fort Bend County areas that carry a Richmond mailing address in the 77406 and 77407 zip codes, including Aliana, Waterview Town Center, the Mason Road corridor and West Bellfort Boulevard near the Grand Parkway. Every pick below lists a Richmond, TX address on its official site. We left out places with Rosenberg, Sugar Land, Fulshear or Katy addresses, even when they're a short drive away. For the wider picture, start with our Richmond, TX area guide.
How we chose
Every pick had to show a Richmond address and current hours on its own official website in November 2026, plus a real seafood reason to go: an oyster bar, crawfish, Gulf shrimp, redfish, ceviche or a serious sushi bar. We didn't use review sites to decide what's open. Several Richmond seafood spots that appear on delivery apps were left out because we couldn't confirm them on an official site (see the note at the end).
Hours and prices change, and crawfish is seasonal, so treat everything below as "typically" and check the restaurant's site before you go.

Pier 36 Seafood & Oyster Bar in Richmond is the closest thing the city has to a classic Gulf Coast fish house. The restaurant sits about 1.5 miles east of the Brazos River on Highway 90 Alt, and its own history traces the family's cooking back to a small restaurant in Needville. The bar inside is called Pete's Oyster Bar, and happy hour typically runs Monday to Friday from 3 to 7 p.m. at the bar and select areas.
What to order: fresh Gulf oysters on the half shell by the half dozen or dozen, or the baked oysters topped with Parmesan, crabmeat and spinach. If you want a full plate, the crawfish étouffée and the blackened catfish with shrimp are both on the menu.
Why go: it's family-owned, scratch-made and the only true oyster bar on this list. Note that it's closed on Sundays.

7Spice Cajun Seafood (Aliana)

What to order: crawfish by the pound when it's in season, or the 5-pound crawfish special, which the menu says includes two corn and six potatoes. Out of season, get head-on shrimp or snow crab by the pound with your choice of sauce and heat, plus a cup of the dark-roux gumbo.
Why go: it's open seven days and late on weekends, so it works for a Sunday boil when Pier 36 is closed.

What to order: Fish Cancun, or Martin's Seafood, redfish and three jumbo shrimp cooked in foil with tomato, peppers, mushrooms and lemon butter. For a starter, the Ceviche Tropical comes served over fresh pineapple.
Why go: five different redfish dishes on one menu, plus a run of shrimp plates built on six jumbo shrimp each. More on the menu in our best tacos in Richmond guide.

What to order: the Crazy Cajun Roll, the Daddy Doo Roll (spicy tuna and crab mix topped with salmon) or the Hamachio, yellowtail with oranges and ponzu.
Why go: the chain's site says happy hour typically runs Monday to Saturday from 4 to 7 p.m., all day Sunday, plus a reverse happy hour from 9 p.m. to close. The chain's site files this store under "Rosenberg," but its listed address is Richmond, TX 77469.
