Best Peking Duck in Houston: 8 Spots on Bellaire and Beyond

Date Published

Houston has one of the best concentrations of Peking duck outside a Chinese city, and almost all of it sits within a few miles of Bellaire Blvd in the Chinatown corridor. This guide covers eight verified spots — three that require an advance call and one that stays open past midnight.

Two different preparations appear on this list. Peking duck (北京烤鸭) is the Beijing-style preparation: a whole bird, inflated to separate the skin from the fat, hung to air-dry, roasted until the skin crackles, and served with thin steamed pancakes, scallions, cucumber, and plum or hoisin sauce. Cantonese roast duck (广式烧鸭) is a different bird: marinated, roasted whole, usually displayed hanging in a deli case and served by the portion over rice or noodles. Both are excellent; they are not the same dish.

How we chose

All eight restaurants were confirmed as currently open via their own website or official social page in October 2026. Each serves Beijing-style Peking duck or Cantonese roast duck as a regular offering, not an occasional special. Prices change — treat every figure below as typical and confirm with the restaurant before you go.

The Beijing-style Peking duck specialists

These three restaurants serve the full ceremony: whole or half bird, thin pancakes, scallions, and sauce. Start here if you want the classic experience.

Peking Cuisine

Southwest Freeway · 8332 Southwest Fwy · call the day before

Peking Cuisine has been serving Northern Chinese food at this address since the mid-1990s. The Peking duck dinner — a whole bird carved and served with house-made steamed tortillas, scallion, and sweet bean sauce — is one of the most consistently cited authentic preparations on the Bellaire corridor. The whole duck typically runs around $60 and serves about three people.

Order-ahead rule: Call the day before. The restaurant sells out regularly and will not hold a duck for walk-ins. This is the one you plan around, not the one you wander into.

Best for: a small group who wants the most traditional Northern Chinese preparation in town.

Peking Impression

Chinatown, [Bellaire Blvd](/areas/bellaire) · Dun Huang Plaza, 9889 Bellaire Blvd Ste D-224 · no advance order required

Peking Impression is the most consistent no-reservation Beijing duck in Houston's Chinatown. The restaurant serves the full ceremony daily, with a whole duck typically running $56.99 — that includes 18 pancakes and duck soup or a second course — and a half duck at $29.99 with 12 pancakes. No phone call required.

Insider tip: The duck soup that comes with a whole duck is made from the carcass after carving and is worth staying for. If you only want the crispy skin and pancakes, the half duck works well for two people.

Best for: a weeknight dinner where you want Peking duck without a week of planning.

Fung's Kitchen

Southwest Freeway · 7320 Southwest Fwy #115 · walk-in, closed Mondays

Fung's Kitchen has been a Houston institution on the Southwest Freeway since around 1990. The Peking duck — whole (typically $55) or half ($28.99 typically), served with scallions, plum sauce, and your choice of steamed buns or tortilla wraps — is available walk-in Tuesday through Sunday. Do not skip the Peking Duck Roll ($8.99 for 4 pieces): shredded duck, cilantro, celery, and onion. The kitchen calls it their gold medal appetizer, and the reputation is deserved.

Best for: a weekend outing that also includes dim sum and a full Cantonese menu.

The modern duck dinner

Duck n Bao

Rice Village · 5215 Kelvin Dr · and Memorial · 5535 Memorial Dr · call ahead

Duck n Bao is not in Chinatown — its two locations sit in Rice Village and Memorial, west of downtown — but the duck program earns a spot here. The restaurant air-dries its ducks for 24 to 48 hours before roasting, a step that separates the skin from the fat and produces the crackling texture Peking duck is known for. Most restaurants skip this step entirely. At Duck n Bao, you can watch the bird being carved and plated through an open kitchen window.

A whole duck typically runs $58–68 and comes with 12 pancakes, duck sauce, cucumber, and scallion. The menu marks duck as “Limited” — call ahead.

Best for: a date night or out-of-town guests who want a more polished setting alongside a strong Sichuan menu.

Ocean Palace

Hong Kong City Mall · 11215 Bellaire Blvd · walk-in on weekends for dim sum; call ahead for dinner

Ocean Palace is one of Houston's largest Chinese restaurants — a cavernous two-story space — and it works for two different duck situations. On Saturday and Sunday mornings, the dim sum cart service typically includes Peking duck rolls: crispy skin and meat in a thin steamed pancake, available walk-in. For the full Peking duck dinner, Ocean Palace offers a two-course service (typically around $62), best booked ahead by phone.

Best for: a large group who wants dim sum alongside duck, or a banquet-scale dinner.

Cantonese roast duck

Beijing-style Peking duck is one preparation. Cantonese roast duck — marinated, roasted whole, usually hanging in a deli case and sold by the portion — is something else entirely. These three spots do it well.

Sinh Sinh

Chinatown · 9788 Bellaire Blvd · open until 2 a.m. Sunday–Thursday, 3 a.m. Friday–Saturday

Sinh Sinh is the only spot on this list open past midnight. The Cantonese roast duck — typically around $8.95 for a portion — has a strong following in the Bellaire corridor. You can get late-night roast duck with rice or congee at 1 a.m. when nowhere else is open. The kitchen can sell out on busy nights; call ahead if you're arriving after 11 p.m.

Best for: a late-night stop after dinner elsewhere, or any time you need Cantonese BBQ duck past midnight.

One Roast 壹哥烧腊

Dynasty Plaza · 9600 Bellaire Blvd Ste 102 · open daily 11 a.m.–8 p.m.

One Roast has built a following for Hong Kong-style Cantonese roast meats, specializing in crispy Cantonese roast duck, soy sauce chicken, and char siu. Order at the counter; pricing is by portion and weight.

Best for: picking up char siu and Cantonese roast duck to take home.

A Ly Oriental Restaurant

Bellaire Blvd · 11360 Bellaire Blvd #260 · budget option

A Ly runs a Chinese-Vietnamese menu with Cantonese roast duck at typically $10.95 a portion and a Peking-style duck at roughly $25.95 — the lowest price for a Peking duck preparation on this list. The atmosphere is no-frills and the portions are generous. A good option when you want the experience without the $55–60 whole-bird spend.

Best for: a budget-friendly Bellaire stop, or a low-stakes first try before committing to a full ceremony dinner.
