Argentina Cafe Empanada Factory… yeah, that’s a mouthful. This spot is a bit unorthodox. It’s a sit down restaurant, but the main focus is empanadas, which are more of a grab and go type of food. So I’m judging it with that in mind. Let’s start with a high. The flan was absolutely delicious. Great portion, velvety, smooth, perfectly custardy without that eggy taste, and not overly sweet. That little touch of cajeta on top? Chef’s kiss. Now onto a low. The chicken curry empanada? No. Just no. Putting the bright yellow color aside, frozen peas do not belong there, and if you’re calling it curry, it should actually taste like curry… not bouillon flavored chicken. The sweet beef empanada… ground meat and raisins. Yeah, I know how that sounds. It kind of worked, but not something I’d go back for anytime soon. Maybe in six months. Now back to the positives. The pineapple cream cheese empanada was scrumptious, and overall the sweet empanadas really hit. The savory ones? That’s a different story. I’ll give it another try down the line, but for now: come for the sweets, be selective with the savory.

Great service, they went over the menu, made suggestions. It was clean restaurant. I got to try the sweet empanada which was different but good! I had all 3 sauces that were good! I will definitely be back!

Absolutely delicious homemade empanadas! I purchased 3 dozen for my staff for Hospital Week last week and everyone was raving about them! I especially loved that they were made to order while I waited. I will definitely be returning for more ☺️

Oye Che!!! Authentic Argentinan Salteñas in the heart of Houston. Who knew? And ... Guess what? They were fantastic. From the presentation to the texture and the juicy contents. You won't be disappointed. Shout out to Cindy for being a great culinary guide on the journey back to my childhood. Mayhem Approved *****

Empanadas are good quality, good size, and good flavor, only missing a little bit of salt. You also have the option to get fried or baked. If you prefer it baked it will take around 10 minutes to ne prepare. The place is small with only 5 tables inside but it's OK, very clean and well maintained. Maizena alfajores are ok a little dry but not too sweet that for me is better than the Argentinian commercial Brand Havanna.
