I am extremely dissatisfied with the service I received from this mechanic shop. I originally brought my car in because the rear portion of my car’s roof was leaking, and water was coming out from the back panel/trunk area inside the vehicle. I never told them that the sunroof itself was leaking. After inspecting the vehicle, they told me the issue was caused by clogged sunroof drains and blocked drainage lines. Originally, they quoted me around $750 for the repair, but then later agreed to do the work for about $550. I paid the amount and was assured the problem was fixed and that the vehicle would no longer leak. Unfortunately, the leak was still there immediately after the repair. When I brought the car back, they told me they would “take care of me” and look into it further. However, the next day I received a call saying that I supposedly needed an entirely new sunroof because they had found a crack in a component associated with the sunroof. They quoted me around $1,500 for the repair, including about $750 just for the part. What upset me the most was that this “crack” was never mentioned during the original inspection, even though they had already worked on the drains and charged me significant labor costs. When I questioned why the crack was not discovered the first time, they claimed the clogged drains caused it. I explained that if they were already servicing that area, they should have identified the issue during the initial repair instead of charging me for work that did not solve the problem. I decided not to continue arguing and picked up my vehicle. After doing more research, I found a sunroof/moonroof and windshield specialist with over 40 years of experience. He thoroughly inspected the vehicle and fixed the leak for a fraction of the price I was quoted here. More importantly, he told me there was NO crack in the sunroof and that I did NOT need an entire sunroof replacement. He even fixed a loose sunroof glass issue and identified the real source of the leak — which had nothing to do with the sunroof itself. The actual problem was around the satellite antenna area and surrounding seals on the rear portion of the roof. Looking back, I wish I had paid more attention to other reviews because several people mentioned similar experiences: incomplete repairs, misdiagnosed problems, and being asked to return repeatedly for additional costly work. Based on my experience, I cannot recommend this shop.

I've been going to John's Express Lube for all of my auto service needs for at least a quarter of a century. Peter, Andrew, and the rest of their team are just the best technicians you could hope to find in Bel Air, and I'd be willing to wager a lot in the greater Houston metro area. They really go above and beyond to take care of their customers' needs, and they always do it at a very fair price. So obviously I can't recommend them highly enough.

I’ve been getting my oil changes here for over 6 years and they’ve always taken great care of my car! Super friendly, quick, and honest every single time. Never try to upsell or pressure you into stuff you don’t need, which I really appreciate. It’s hard to find a shop you can actually trust ,this one’s definitely it! highly recommend for any service you would need, for quick reliable service.

I’ve been getting my 2017 Mercedes-Benz serviced here for a couple of years now, and they’ve always taken great care of me. When my check engine light came on, I let Peter know I was concerned, and the team handled it quickly and professionally. They fixed the issue and gave me clear advice on what to take care of next. Reliable, efficient, and trustworthy I highly recommend!
