Southwest Houston neighborhoods along I-69/US-59. Sharpstown, launched in 1955 as Houston's first large master-planned, car-centric suburb, is home to PlazAmericas, Harwin Drive, the Mahatma Gandhi District on Hillcroft and part of Chinatown. Gulfton, just across the freeway, is dense, international and next door to Bellaire.
